This coming Sunday, 12th October, It’s All About Culture (IAAC) in collaboration with Umoja Arts Network and Chaplins Cellar Bar are organising a vibrant community event to celebrate Black History Month here in Boscombe.  It is a family-friendly, free-entry event with film shows, dub poetry, history talks, arts displays, and music from Afro Tallawah and Afri’Arts.  There will also be the opportunity to enjoy a Caribbean Sunday lunch.  The main event starts at 2pm and runs through into the evening.  There will also be a chance to take part in drumming and dancing, from 11:30am onwards, courtesy of Sundays Feel Good Sessions!  These types of community events give everyone the chance to reflect on the achievements of African Caribbean people in the past, as well as work on empowerment and a reduction of negative stereotyping, says Ebi Sosseh, founder of Black History Month celebrations here in Dorset.  All welcome!
