BCP Tourism has officially signalled the launch of the summer season with our ‘We Are Tourism’ campaign.

Across social media channels, in conjunction with local businesses, the destination hails the new dawn for visitors after the disruption triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic.

This new campaign emphasises the measures implemented by accommodation providers, restaurants and dining facilities and attractions to ensure the safety of visitors to the region in the coming weeks and months.

This includes but is not limited to; rearranging dining facilities to provide more space between guests, contactless check-in at hotels and the development of apps to reduce contact in restaurants.

Through the area’s Destination Management Board, BCP Tourism has been working with the tourism sector partners and businesses in preparing to welcome visitors who respect the town, providing them with an assured experience that it is Covid ready.

We have worked directly with businesses communicating the latest Covid regulations and guidance, and are actively encouraging Visit Britain’s We’re Good to Go accreditation.

Further reassurance is provided on the seafront, in parks, the town centre and key urban areas where BCP Council has rolled out a comprehensive social distancing signage programme with over 2,130 vinyl pavement roundels, over 1,660 correx boards across the urban areas and 800 across the seafront.

Some businesses are creating experiential videos and web pages in order to provide clear understanding of the visitor experience and further illustrate the changes being made.

Cllr Lewis Allison, Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Leisure and Communities, said: “We are thrilled to be able to welcome back visitors to our beautiful part of the world, safely and respectfully, to enjoy our hospitality. This campaign seeks to remind residents and visitors alike of what we, as a destination, have to offer which will always aim to put the safety of our patrons first. We are Tourism, and we are ready.”

The clear destination messaging is for everyone to Respect, Protect and Enjoy Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, the residents and other visitors.

  1. We are ready? They couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery. They have overseen one of the largest mortality rates in Carehomes in the UK

And as soon as the unlock for visiting beaches happened they were not prepared and their only reaction was to call the tourist animals, declare a state of emergency and put the Parking Charges up!

    And their ready?
