Bournemouth’s Coastal Business Improvement District (BID) has announced the appointment of Bournemouth based tandi creative media as its new marketing partner for its 2014 autumn marketing campaign. tandi, which was established in 2001, was invited to pitch along with 5 other companies and impressed the Coastal BID Board with its fresh and innovative approach.
Des Simmons, Chairman of the Bournemouth Coastal BID said, “We had a very specific brief which was to continue use of the successful ‘Colour Your Life’ marketing theme which isdesigned to enable businesses to run their own individual campaigns whileusing a common approach and design.”
“Based on visitor research from VisitEngland and Bournemouth based NCTA (National Coastal Tourism Academy), the brief set out the target markets and required competing firms to not only develop a marketing campaign targeted at people living within the M25 who hadn’t been to Bournemouth before, but also an a campaign which could be used by local hotels to assist them in marketing to their existing customer base.”
Kevin Cowlard, Director of tandi creative media enthused, “We are thrilled to have been selected as the marketing partner for the Coastal BID. Kevin added, “We have created two campaigns; ‘All in Bournemouth’ which will target couples in the 35 – 55plus age group and families with children not yet at school who are aware of Bournemouth but have never visited the town. Our campaign will be very visual and from mid- September we will be launching a poster campaign on the London Underground at some 60 different locations. Our second campaign is ‘Capture the moment’ which will provide invaluable marketing support to hotels in Bournemouth to give them the tools to be able to engage effectively and innovatively with their existing customers.”
At a recent information event, hoteliers were excited to learn of the newly launched ‘Capture the moment’ #BournemouthSelfie competition in which they are encouraged to get their guests to take selfies of themselves at various locations around Bournemouth during the Summer/Autumn months and upload these to Facebook to ‘capture the moment’ from their holidays. There will be a £300 value prize given each month to the best judged selfie photo. The prize will include anaccommodation voucher as well as an attraction/restaurant voucher.
Coastal BID Chairman Des Simmons continued, “We felt that it was important to use a local company and are delighted to welcome Kevin Cowlard and his team on board. They demonstrated a good understanding of our needs and the two different markets we are seeking to attract. We are looking forward to working with them as we roll out the ‘All in Bournemouth’ and ‘Capture the Moment’ Campaigns this autumn.”
