As part of this investigation a 34-year-old man who is known to Kat was arrested and assisted officers with the investigation. He has now been released from custody without charge.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Derbyshire, of MCIT, said: “We are delighted that Kat has been found safe and well and we have updated her family with this news.

“I would like to personally thank everyone who came forward with information, shared our appeal and supported the investigation.”

Officers are renewing their appeal for the public’s help in a bid to find missing woman Katarzyna Zych.

Katarzyna’s last confirmed sighting was at Solutions Inc on Old Christchurch Road in Bournemouth town centre on Saturday 8 December 2018.

Detectives have now arrested a man in connection with her disappearance.

A further sighting was reported by a member of the public of Katarzyna and a man walking along New Road at Parley Cross on the afternoon of Sunday 16 December 2018.

The 37-year-old was reported missing to Dorset Police at around 8.45pm on Sunday 16 December 2018.

Katarzyna is a Polish national of no fixed abode and is known to sleep rough in the Winton and Christchurch areas. She has been known to attend the Life Centre on Wimborne Road in Bournemouth.

It is believed she also has links to Croydon in London.

Katarzyna, who is known as Kat, is described as white, five feet two inches tall and of heavy build with brown curly hair that is shaved on the left hand side and longer on the right hand side. She has tattoos on her left hand, neck and left leg and was last seen wearing jeans and Converse trainers.

A major search operation is underway led by detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT) in the Winton and West Parley areas.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Derbyshire, of MCIT, said: “A large operation is now underway to find Kat and I am appealing to anyone who may have information as to her whereabouts to please come forward.

“Her family based in the UK and Poland are being updated by specially-trained officers.

“We know that she is a rough sleeper, but it is completely out of character for her to go missing for such a long period of time without contacting her friends or family.

“We are extremely concerned for Kat and we have a duty to follow every possible line of enquiry to locate her. Following investigations, we are treating Kat’s disappearance as suspicious and we have arrested a man who is known to her.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have been driving in the West Parley area on Sunday to review their dashcam footage and report anything that could be relevant to Dorset Police.”

A 34-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is assisting officers with enquiries.

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Katarzyna’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting incident number 16:392.
