Hard on the heels of the Wheels Festival this weekend, Bournemouth is preparing for a major hip hop weekend in early June.
Bournemouth has been a hotbed for serious hip hop talent since the mid-eighties. Last year, Pavilion Dance South West brought all local crews together for the first time, to celebrate hip hop and related arts at the B-Town Throwdown weekend, which attracted over 5,000 visitors. This year’s B-Town Throwdown will be running from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 June.

The icing on the cake will be Sadler’s Wells touring hip hop festival Breakin’ Convention on Saturday 7 June. The show, held in the Pavilion Theatre, will be hosted by UK hip hop legend Jonzi D and old school Second To None b-boy Lacemaster.

The weekend includes, performances, masterclasses, free outdoor dance classes, battles with a chance to win up to £350, live graffiti artwork, and music and more
