Officers investigating a burglary at a store in Shaftesbury are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report that at around 2.45am on Thursday 28 January 2021 a break-in occurred at the Central convenience store at Ivy Cross. Damage was caused to the front doors and an attempt was made to access a cash machine inside, but this was unsuccessful.

Police Constable Paul Cleal, of North Dorset police, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this burglary and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who has any information to assist our enquiries, to please contact us.

“We have obtained a CCTV image of the suspect and I am releasing this as part of our enquiries. I appreciate his face cannot be seen and the image is not the best quality but someone may recognise the clothing he is wearing and it may help jog their memory if they have seen him in the area.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210017214. Alternatively, to stay 100 per cent anonymous, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or call Freephone 0800 555 111.
