Officers investigating two public order incidents on buses in Weymouth are issuing CCTV images of the suspect.

A bus driver was verbally abused and spat at in the two incidents, which are believed to involve the same man and occurred within three days of each other.

At around 8.40am on Wednesday 6 November 2019 a man got on the bus outside the law courts in Westwey Road and proceeded to shout and swear at the driver before kicking the door and leaving.

The second incident occurred shortly before 11am on Saturday 9 November 2019 at the Dumbarton Road stop on Portland Road. The man got on the bus, sat down and when asked to leave by the same driver he shouted and swore before spitting at them.

Police Constable Anneka Harding, of Weymouth police, said: “We will not tolerate people who are just doing their jobs being treated in this manner and are carrying out an investigation to identify the man responsible.

“I would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was on either bus at the time of these incidents and witnessed what happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55190177075. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
