Officers investigating an assault at a pub in Wimborne are issuing a CCTV image of the suspect in a bid to identify him.

At around 12.25am on Saturday 9 November 2019 an altercation occurred involving two groups of people in The Rising Sun pub on East Street.

The victim – a local man aged in his 50s – went to intervene and was later assaulted by one of the men involved in the altercation.

It is reported that the victim was head butted and punched in the face. He sustained injuries to his cheek and nose.

Police Constable Cameron Thompson, of Wimborne police, said: “An investigation is underway into this assault and as part of my enquiries I have obtained a CCTV image of the suspect.

“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please get in touch.”
