Officers investigating a report of an assault in West Dorset are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify.

At around 4.10pm on Sunday 2 January 2022 the male victim was in the garden of an address in the Halstock area when his dogs ran out into a nearby lane.

It is reported that the dogs barked at a man who was running in the area. The man then entered the garden and began shouting at the victim, before grabbing him by his clothing and pushing him.

The victim fell on the floor and hit his head. He sustained a cut to his ear and neck pain.

Police Constable Brian Puttock, of Dorset Police, said: “Following enquiries, I have obtained a CCTV image of a man I would like to identify and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please get in touch.

“While I appreciate the image is not of the best quality, I am hoping someone may recognise him from his build or clothing.”
