Officers investigating a sexual assault on a bus in Christchurch are issuing CCTV images of a man they would like to identify.

At 3.23pm on Monday 11 March 2019 the victim – a local woman aged in her 20s – got onto the 1A Yellow Bus on the Barrack Road stop by KFC.

A couple of stops later by the Tesco garage on Barrack Road two men got onto the bus. One sat in the seat next to the victim.

He made advances toward the victim, repeatedly asked her personal questions. He mentioned her perfume and started leaning toward her before attempting to kiss her neck around five times.

The suspect continued to attempt to engage with the victim and inappropriately touched her leg three or four times despite her asking him to stop.

Police Constable Louise Rowswell, of Christchurch police, said: “This bus was travelling from Christchurch to Boscombe at the time of this incident. The victim was extremely intimidated by this man and felt pinned to her seat.

“Enquiries have been carried out in a bid to identify the man in these CCTV images and I would ask anyone who knows him to please contact Dorset Police.”
