Officers investigating a purse theft from a library in Winton are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to.

Some time between 1pm and 1.30pm on Tuesday 4 February 2020 a woman aged in her 50s was in Winton Library when a man stole her purse from her handbag while she was momentarily distracted. The victim’s driving licence and 200 euros were also taken.

A short time later, the victim’s bank cards were used to make fraudulent transactions totalling £55 on the High Street in Sainsbury’s and in WH Smith.

Police Constable Sian Maynard, of Dorset Police, said: “We have made a number of enquiries into this incident and I am now in a position to release a CCTV image of a man I would like to speak to.

“I would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us.”
