Collision in East Dorset Leaves Man Arrested, Hospitalised and Car on its Roof

Officers investigating a road traffic collision in East Dorset are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

The collision was reported at 11.23am on Friday 28 February 2025 and involved a grey Hyundai Bayon and a blue Audi A1 on the A31 at St Leonards.

It is reported that the Hyundai was on its roof.

The driver of the Hyundai – a man from Bournemouth aged in his 30s – was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and taken to hospital for treatment. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The Audi driver did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police Constable Michael Wells, of East Dorset police, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision and the moments leading up to it.

“I would ask any motorists who were travelling in the area and have information to assist my enquiries to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to speak to anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
