COOK in Westbourne is reopening its doors on Saturday 13th December to the delight of its loyal customers in Bournemouth and Poole. The successful store which has been running since 2011 and sells ‘remarkable food for your freezer’ is reopening following a period of closure.  A refit has been carried out after the shop ceiling fell in after flash floods in the town in July 2014.

Store owner, Elaine Sullman enthused, “We are thrilled to finally be reopening.  It has been a long, bumpy and frustrating journey since the floods in July – the experience of dealing with the insurance claim has been very technical and incredibly challenging.  However, we’ve made it through and we are urging our customers and shoppers to come and rediscover COOK in Westbourne and stock up for the festive period. Christmas is huge for us and it is brilliant to be opening in time for the late run up to the Christmas holiday period.  We’ve got some wonderful festive dishes available.”

Elaine continued, “Our customers have given us a lot of support during this difficult period.  If I’ve bumped in to one of them on the street they’ve been really kind, empathising and promising to return as soon as we are open again!  I would like to thank them all for their patience and loyalty.”

The unique store which is part of the COOK franchise prides itself on its hand-made dishes which are prepared in a kitchen in Sittingbourne, using the same ingredients and techniques that you would at home, in order that everything looks and tastes homemade.  The Sittingbourne kitchen works similar to a big hotel kitchen, with different sections responsible for different parts of the cooking process – checking ingredients as they come in; preparing them; cooking; making pastry; assembling the different components of the finished dish; freezing; packing and labelling. COOK don’t believe in using machines to do jobs that people can do better.

Queen of the British High Street, Mary Portas, was reported in The Daily Telegraph as saying, ‘COOK’s frozen meals look and taste like they’ve been home-cooked with love and flair!’

COOK offers a wide range of party essentials including Canapes, and hand made pates. It is also offering a stress-free Christmas lunch which feeds 8 people for £100 and is ready in less than 3 hours.  Customers can also be tempted by the delicious mains currently on offer such as Beef Wellington with Red Wine and Shallot Jus, Salmon en Courte, Wild Boar Pie, gluten free Huntsman’s Chicken with Dauphinoise potatoes, Indian curries, Lasagne al forno, Chicken, Ham and Leek pie and much more.

Many dishes are in one, two and four portion sizes and can be bought as ‘Meals Boxes’ with a selection of your chosen sized meals inside – these are proving to be the perfect one-click freezer filler, or equally ideal as a gift to a son or daughter at university, new mums or an elderly relative.

Elaine Sullman concluced, “Come along to the store and have a look around.  We also offer home delivery to BH postcodes and we are launching our new ‘Click and Collect’ service.  We look forward to hearing from you!”
