Coroner requires public assistance following two deaths in Christchurch

The Coroner for Dorset is seeking the assistance of the public to find the next of kin of a woman who lived in a nursing home in Christchurch.

Edna June Scott, who was 92 years old, died at her nursing home on Monday 8 May 2023.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious and no police investigation is needed into her death.

Coroner’s Officer Lucy Manuel said: “We are not treating the death as suspicious, however we have not been able to locate her next of kin.

“If any member of the public has any knowledge of her family members, please contact us as soon as possible on 01202 123900.”

Dennis Albert New, who was 95 years old, died at his home address in Hazel Close on Friday 5 May 2023.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and no police investigation is needed into his death.
