Weymouth & Portland Borough Council will be considering a report on the Parks and Open Spaces service review at Management Committee on Tuesday 1 September.

Cllr Andy Blackwood, Community Facilities Briefholder for Weymouth & Portland Borough Council, said:

“We will be discussing officer recommendations with regards to the different aspects of the service review, which include the types of planting used in the local parks and the football and athletics facilities at The Marsh on Knightsdale Road, Weymouth.”

As part of the process, there is a Scrutiny Working Group looking at the issues, who will continue to meet throughout the autumn as part of the service review programme. This group is scheduled to report back to committee later in the year with their recommendations.

The Parks and Open Spaces service review is being undertaken as part of the wider programme of service reviews, which require the borough council and West Dorset District Council to save £3.2m by 1 April 2017.

Members of the public are invited to attend the Management Committee which will take place at 9.30am on 1 September in Committee Room 1, North Quay offices, Weymouth.
