A budding entrepreneur who has turned his life around is launching a clothing brand with help from a leading Dorset business support service.

WSX’s Driving Urban Enterprise project is assisting Nathan White create a company that will design, produce and sell ‘Jeenewoosh’ products.

The name – a variant of ‘genius’ – was created by Nathan while doodling on a train and now it has been incorporated into various designs.

Nathan, 40, who has battled drug problems in the past and has suffered from a mental illness, is a regular attender at WSX events in Bournemouth.

Now his branded designs have had interest in from Europe and the US.

The businessman from New Milton, Hants, has already staged a fashion show and is now making a video to promote his branded clothing.

He said: “After coming up with the idea about the clothing brand I didn’t know what to do but someone I was speaking to recommended WSX’s Driving Urban Enterprise project.

“I got in touch and began attending meetings, seminars and networking events.

“They arranged for me to attend a huge Christmas market where I exhibited some of the branded clothing and had models showing them off.

“It was very inspiring and now I’m trying to find funding to take it to the next stage. Ultimately I want to make my own clothing and sell the products here and abroad.

“I am also passionate about putting something back and helping young people.”

WSX’s Driving Urban Enterprise project is supported with funding provided by the European Regional Development Fund, local authorities and private sector partners.

It aims to help new businesses into profit by offering practical help and by running events.

Chris Darlow, WSX Programme Manager, said: “Nathan is a great example to anyone who might want to start their own business.

“Sam Everard, WSX Enterprise Executive, has worked closely with Nathan to support the development of his business idea and it is fantastic to see such progress.

“He has overcome some extreme difficulties to get where he has and his determination will see him develop his brand further.

“It’s been a pleasure to assist Nathan where we can and we’ll continue to do so.”
