Officers investigating an incident where a woman was bitten by a dog as she was out running in Weymouth are issuing an image of a man they would like to speak to.

At around 4.50pm on Wednesday 8 September 2021 a woman aged in her 30s was running near to the Harriers roundabout, following a path down to Lorton Meadows, when she saw a man with a dog on an extendable lead. As she ran past the dog bit her on the leg, causing a puncture wound.

The man reportedly told the woman it was her fault before walking off.

Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries in relation to this incident and I am keen to speak to the dog owner involved so we can take his account.

“I would urge anyone who recognises the man pictured to please get in touch.”
