Kirkwood Brown Trio (Ropemakers, West Street, Bridport DT6 3QP): Acoustic blues/jazz/rock played on acoustic and resonator guitars, mandolin/mandocello and double bass. Three excellent musicians with ‘previous form’ combine their skills to play an eclectic mixture of musical styles. James Kirk (double bass), a New Yorker and previously a Chicago session musician and resident bassist with NBC has played with many great musicians including Albert Collins, Honeyboy Edwards and Don Cherry. Marc Woodward (mandolin) has played with John Renbourn, the late Jo-Anne Kelly, Peter Rowan and many others from the folk, blues and bluegrass scene.
