The Dorset PCC is to hold a public meeting for residents of Bournemouth and the surrounding areas to raise any policing and crime issues they may have to their directly elected commissioner. The public meeting will take place in Boscombe at the Friends Meeting House this Tuesday 5th August between 19:00 – 21:00. The session will give people living and working in the Bournemouth area the opportunity to put their questions or concerns to Martyn Underhill. Issues expected to be raised at the meeting include calls to 101, anti-social behaviour, shoplifting, criminal damage and substance abuse.
The Commissioner said: “I want to work with local people directly on issues concerning community safety, crime and policing. It is important that we all meet in person, to identify the key issues in the area and then work together to solve them. Although the forum is being held in Boscombe, we want to hear the views of people from across Bournemouth and its surrounding areas”. “Whilst Boscombe is a challenging area, reported crime is going down. The chief constable, myself and partners are working hard to reduce crime in the area and I look forward to hearing the views of residents.” We will be live tweeting from the event via @PCCDorset.
