Double fireworks from Bournemouth and Boscombe Pier this Friday

The sun is out, the beach is calling and the ice creams are flowing – summer has arrived in Bournemouth and we’re marking the occasion with a bang! On Friday 11th July at 10pm there will be a stunning double firework display, sponsored by the Coastal Activity Park, which will see both the Bournemouth and Boscombe Piers illuminated in the summer’s night sky.

And the fun and fireworks don’t stop there, with a jam-packed events timetable this summer will see the UK’s premier seaside resort alive with FREE family fun. The fantastic Friday Family Fiesta will be starting on the 11th July running every Friday to the 22nd August, offering families the perfect combination of entertainment for a fun-packed Friday evening, including fireworks, circus workshops and shows, fire performances, stilt walkers and much more.

The Kids Family Fun Festival is a vibrant event that keeps the whole family entertained with FREE kids shows in the award-wining Lower Gardens, art workshops, performing magicians, jesters, puppet workshops, comedy, party games and more! Join in everyday from 11am – 5pm from 28th July – 24th August.

After a successful first year ‘Onstage at Pier Approach’ will be returning to entice the crowds with a fantastic live events programme. Expect to see an eclectic mix of dance, live music and movies between 28th July and 24th August. Completely free and by the sea, the space enables viewers to enjoy great entertainment with the backdrop of Bournemouth’s award-winning scenery.

The famously enchanting Candlelight Nights will be back to magically illuminate the Lower Gardens from the 30th July through to 20th August. One of Bournemouth’s oldest traditions, the candles are lit at dusk – a charming custom the whole family can take part in.

But the biggest show-stopper will be the Bournemouth Air Festival, which will be returning for its seventh year from 28th – 31st August. The impressive aviation spectacular will once again be packed with top-notch entertainment including thrilling aerial performances, naval beach assaults, live music and superb seafront trading. And for the first time ever this year will see the Red Arrows display over all four days of the festival, plus the return of the iconic Eurofighter Typhoon andAvro Vulcan XH558.

Bringing a close to the diverse programme of summer entertainment will be the Arts by the Sea Festival offering over 200 events from 26th September to 12th October. This year’s theme of ‘On the Edge’ will be explored throughlive music, performance, sound and visual installations and films held across a variety of Bournemouth’s most exciting venues.
