This letter seems to advocate A&E closure at night. First step to downgrading. Full preservation of existing facilities required, not downgrading by stealth. Uncertainty creates low staff morale, recruitment and retention problems.

Dr Bob Gill

First thing to remember is that:

• most Councillors haven’t got a clue about what is really happening with NHS privatisation,

• who is really in charge (Simon Stevens),

• who Optum are and their role in overseeing efficiency (i.e. spending cuts and closures!)

• the direction of travel for the future of NHS provision where everything is up for grabs!

Councillors fall into the trap of believing the lies they are fed because it all seems very plausible.

Simply ask yourself why are the people of Poole being gaslighted/ persuaded that it’s a good thing to lose their A&E at night when we, the people of Grantham & South Kesteven are fighting tooth and nail to get our Grantham Hospital A&E overnight closure (August 2016!) reinstated?!
