A series of ‘Explorer’ cycle rides are to take place every Friday as part of the Activate Coast & Countryside project run by Christchurch and East Dorset Councils.

These will allow anyone to take to two wheels and go on a leisurely guided cycle ride and discover some of our local areas. The rides will start each week from one of four different locations in the district and cost just £4.50 per ride.

The first ride starts at 10am on Friday 17 April from Ferndown Forest Golf Club. They then take place at 10am every Friday from the following locations:

24 April – Highcliffe Castle

1 May – Moors Valley Country Park

8 May – Stewarts Garden Centre, Holt

15 May – Ferndown Forest Golf Club

22 May – Highcliffe Castle

29 May – Moors Valley Country Park

5 June – Stewarts Garden Centre, Holt

12 June – Ferndown Forest Golf Club

19 June – Highcliffe Castle

26 June – Moors Valley Country Park

3 July – Stewarts Garden Centre, Holt

10 July – Ferndown Forest Golf Club

17 July – Highcliffe Castle

24 July – Moors Valley Country Park

Anyone who does not have a bike can hire one in advance on booking (except for Holt where no hire is available), so there is no reason for anyone not to enjoy this fun and sociable activity.

The rides last a couple of hours and will use quiet lanes and traffic free routes. They are ideal for people who may be getting back into riding a bike after a while.
