Officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision in East Dorset are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at 7.35am on Monday 21 February 2022 of a single vehicle collision involving a silver Subaru on the B3082 Blandford Road near to Badbury Rings. It was reported that the vehicle had left the road.

Very sadly, the driver of the vehicle – a man aged in his 20s – died at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

Road closures are in place to allow emergency services to carry out a thorough examination of the scene.

Police Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly died in this collision.

“An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I would urge any witnesses to please get in touch.

“I would also ask motorists who were travelling along Blandford Road to please check their dashcam for any footage to assist my enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience while the road closures are in place. This allows the emergency services to safely respond to the incident.”
