The Mayor of Poole will be present to open the PEDAS Spring exhibition ‘FLAVOUR’, a sumptuous celebration of food and drink in drawing, painting and sculpture. The mayor will be at the launch party to open the exhibiton at midday 8th March at the Gallery Upstairs, Upton Country Park.

PEDAS (Poole & East Dorset Art Society) is a thriving local art society providing its memberswith a wide range of workshops and regular opportunities to exhibit. The club also manages The Gallery Upstairsfor the local community on behalf of the Borough of Poole.

For ‘Flavour’, PEDAS members have been invited to explore the theme of food and drink in as broad a sense as they wish. As members chewed over ideas and images they found much to get their teeth into.

At the same time, the artists have been conscious of the suffering of so many in the famine currently afflicting Africa, so it seems appropriate for PEDAS to make a donation to East Africa Crisis appeal through Disasters Emergency Committee.

‘FLAVOUR’ is a sumptuous celebration of food and drink conveyed in drawing, painting, prints and sculpture 7th – 24th April, The Gallery Upstairs, Upton Country Park, Poole BH17 7BJ. Open daily 10 am – 5 pm, with full disabled access. www.pedas.org.uk   www.thegalleryupstairs.org.uk
