The exciting new era of live music at The Old Ship in Dorchester continues in 2019 with the visit of national folk-rock band The Leylines on Friday 8th February.

The West Country collective, established in 2013, play a genre-defying, eclectic sound that ranges from traditional folk, to punk, to full blown festival rock. Regulars of the UK venue circuit, The Leylines are also firm favourites of the festival scene having appeared at Glastonbury, Beautiful Days, Godney Gathering and many others.

The band released their debut album, ‘Along The Old Straight Track’ in June 2016, produced by Sean Lakeman, recorded at The Metway studios in Brighton and mixed by Al Scott. With this team on board, inevitably the record has drawn strong comparison to the likes of The Levellers, Mad Dog Mcrea and Ferocious Dog, whilst remaining an album by a band which have forged their own sound and identity.

Almost three years later, the band are about to release their second studio album, ‘Recover Reveal’, on 1st March 2019.

Support on February 8th comes from two of Dorset’s finest home-grown folk acts, Stealing Whiskey and Kipper Roberts, making this a bumper night of original music in the county town.

Doors are at 7.30pm with the first act on at 8pm.

Tickets are £10 in advance and available from www.fuelledbycider.com or in person from The Old Ship Inn on High West Street.

Kev Davis from promoters Fuelled By Cider said: “The response to our Old Ship gigs so far has been fantastic with two sell outs in a row. We’re very excited to bring another band of this calibre to the Dorchester music scene on February 8th and we look forward to seeing another full house.”
