The incident occurred at around 10.15pm on Wednesday 25 September 2019 in the area of Wyke Gardens off Portland Road. It was alleged that two local men were robbed of cash, a mobile phone and a bag. One of the victims suffered life-changing injuries to his hands during the incident.

Following enquiries, a 17-year-old boy from Wareham has been charged with robbery and possessing an imitation firearm. He appeared at Poole Youth Court on Thursday 2 April 2020 and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 30 April 2020.

A 19-year-old man from Southampton has been charged with robbery and possessing an imitation firearm. He is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday 4 May 2020.

A 19-year-old man from Dorchester has been charged with robbery, possessing an imitation firearm, possessing a knife or bladed article in a public place and wounding with intent. He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 11 June 2020.

A 17-year-old Swanage girl has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Youth Court on Wednesday 15 July 2020 for offences of robbery and possessing an imitation firearm.

A 19-year-old Wareham man and a 20-year-old Portland man who were arrested in connection with the incident have both been released from the investigation and will face no further police action.
