Essential repairs to Ferry Bridge start Monday
After more than 40 years, Ferry Bridge, a vital link between Portland and Weymouth requires essential repairs to ensure its long-term sustainability.
Traffic management from Monday, 19 January, to Sunday, 1 March:
• One lane closed with 24/7 two-way traffic lights
• Pedestrian and cyclist access maintained
• No abnormal heavy loads permitted
Most work will take place beneath the bridge and will not be visible. There may be short periods of additional traffic management after 1 March and two brief night closures in April.
