A giant deckchair has been unveiled on Weymouth’s seafront, creating a fantastic new photo opportunity for visitors to Weymouth’s wonderful beach.

The giant deckchair was installed on the promenade by Weymouth Town Council to help boost the local economy ahead of the new visitor season.

As well as providing an exciting new feature along the town’s popular seafront, the deckchair features the hashtag #WeymouthBeach, and visitors and residents are encouraged to share their snaps on social media!

Cllr Ryan Hope, Chair of Services Committee said: “We wanted to do something fun but with high impact that local residents and visitors alike would enjoy at this popular seaside destination.

“It’s a great addition to Weymouth, and we hope to see plenty of people sharing their own pictures across social media platforms of them sitting on the giant deckchair using the hashtag #WeymouthBeach.

“The deckchair is positioned in a very photogenic spot next to the council’s popular Prom Café with our beautiful stretch of sandy beach behind. It’s something visual and fun which we hope will appeal to all ages.”
