Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT) understands that planning for the future can seem like a daunting task, so we are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with local solicitors to offer a free Will service to our members.

To make the process a little easier,Humphries Kirk, Battens and Kitson & Trotman solicitors will all be waiving their usual cost for DWT members wishing to amend, or create a wills throughout October 2013. Members will also be given the option to make a donation or leave a gift in their Will to DWT, to help conserve the precious wildlife in Dorset. This is an extraordinary and unique gift which will be enjoyed by loved ones for generations to come. A true lasting legacy.

Legacies make up about 26% of DWT’s income, and there are many ways gifts in Wills can continue to help to support wildlife in Dorset. A recent legacy left by Mrs. Joan Shewring has already been used to purchase an overlooked and threatened meadow in Kingcombe, West Dorset. A plaque in her honor has been placed at the gate inrecognitionher generous contribution to Dorset’s wildlife.

Tony Bates, President and Volunteer at Dorset Wildlife Trust said: “As we get older our priorities change and it’s the important things that matter. I believe our natural environment is one of those and I know that, thanks to Dorset Wildlife Trust, my passion for wildlife will continue even when I’m not around. That’s why I’m leaving a gift to Dorset Wildlife Trust in my Will. This is my way of planning for the future.”

The free service means you can not only save money, and ensure your final wishes are carried out, but also help protect the wildlife and places that you have loved so much throughout your life. DWT is very grateful to the Dorset solicitors who are supporting the future of our beautiful county by offering this generous service.
