Places are still available on the ‘Heritage Is for Everyone’ Information Morning at the Bridge House Hotel on Thursday 21st January 2016.

Christchurch and East Dorset Community and Recreation team are hosting a free event with the Heritage Lottery Fund for Community organisation fundraisers who would like to know more about the Heritage Lottery Fund and for those who are considering making an HLF application in the future, places are limited and need to be booked by 18th January.

The Heritage Lottery funds a wide range of projects from £3000 upwards which actively involve people in heritage. This can include, amongst other things: cultural traditions; histories of people, communities, places or events; languages and dialects; people’s memories and experiences.

HLF is keen to support the development of potential projects in Christchurch, and East Dorset, especially from groups working with people of all ages and abilities which achieve its outcomes for people, heritage and communities. (https://www.hlf.org.uk/HowToApply/Pages/Outcomes.aspx). 

This event will tell you more about HLF’s Sharing Heritage; First World War: then and now; Young Roots and Our Heritage funding programmes and some of the inspiring projects developed and run by community groups using HLF funding.

Angie McTiernan, an HLF Development Officer will unpack the HLF:

·       definition of heritage

·       application and assessment process

·       application dos and don’ts

·       project outcomes

There will be an opportunity to ask questions, discuss potential projects and meet other groups. After lunch there will be a limited number of surgeries, (please book in advance*), for groups to discuss their specific heritage project.

The HLF Information Event is scheduled for Thursday 21st January 2016; 9.30 am to 1.30 pm (including lunch) at the Bridge House Hotel, Longham, Ferndown BH22 9AN . This is a free event.

 

After Lunch there will be opportunity for HLF Surgeries.
