I am no expert on The Middle East, I know it has been an unstable and volatile region for a long time – there are no easy solutions I know that much – and whilst I don’t ally myself with dictators it has to be said that the people of Iraq and Libya at least had some kind of life under Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi. They also still retained their identities as people of their own countries.  So whose fault is it that it is no longer safe to live there?

People from different cultures have different ways of dealing with problems and whilst their way might not be our way, theirs might be more effective in progressing their culture towards peace and stability in the long run – if only they were left alone to do that.

The world is now a much less safe place – that’s a fact.  And for the most part it is due to our warring masters. Yet still they continue with their dangerous, illogical and already failed strategies.

And when we get a taste of our own medicine and the bombs are in our midst, Presidents and Prime Minister’s alike would have us believe that they are stunned, horrified and outraged.

I’m not going to get into 9/11 in this article – as important as it is. But it’s a fact that there has never been an open and honest public inquiry.  Suffice it to say that the smallest amount of research will easily disprove the official version of events. I am concerned here with what we can do to prevent further death and destruction.

What right have we to bomb other countries, force regime change, use drones that kill women, children and innocent men and make thousands homeless whilst cashing in on the spoils – without retribution?

But its all just collateral damage right?

Well, collateral damage is an anaesthetized description of death, pain, horror and heartache. So why wouldn’t the West’s atrocities try to be avenged? After all, no one has been brought to justice for the illegal invasion of Iraq despite the dodgy dossiers.

Someone must be held accountable for the deaths of over a million Iraqi’s?  And in the meantime, how many more people must die?

Can you imagine the repercussions, if a drone operated by a world power entered UK or US airspace and dropped bombs on a British wedding party or an American school?  Or a village fete?

We have to stop the circle of violence by stepping out of it to lead by example.

Stop the bombing and outlaw the use of drones.

Live in our own lands politically.

Reign in Saudi Arabia, Israel and Turkey. End their ridiculous immunity from criticism and prosecution for their acts of inhumanity, ethnic cleansing and complicity in these wars.

Stop the profiteering and the shady arms sales of all countries involved including Britain and the US.

Stop the trafficking. Stop the secrecy. Stop the lies and the fear-mongering.

Get the media to do their jobs and report facts – not fear porn, speculation and propaganda.

‘Be the change’ – it’s the only way we’ll get one.

I’m sure this is all glaringly obvious to anyone with a conscience and an ounce of common sense. But it doesn’t fit with the plans of the elite building their world dictatorship using fear, confusion and the spoils of war. And therein lies the problem.

It’s easy to make speeches and accusations, it’s even easier to make enemies but to get peace you have to really want it – and too many people really don’t.
