We had a visit from the tooth fairy last night … but the question I’m asking myself is ‘how long will she continue to visit us?‘.  After all, she must be incredibly busy.

This is a serious question I’m asking especially *whispers* as we have a tween in the house.

She’s been visiting us now for many a year since young MasterB lost his very first tooth (I can’t remember how old he was;  how bad is that).

She flutters in of a night sprinkling her sparkly fairy dust everywhere … up the stairs, into B’s bedroom (she clearly does a couple of laps of his bedroom just for fun as there’s sparkle like EVERYWHERE!!), all over his duvet and along the window-sill where his tooth box is normally placed (this is due to the fact he sleeps in a cabin bed and personally I think it would be a tad difficult for her to manoeuvre herself under his pillow successfully without frightening the life out of him and of course waking him) and so this is its position of choice.

Of course, there’s always the promise that the tooth fairy will leave some dish dosh as her parting gift.  And thus, to this day MasterB is quite happy to place his tooth in the said box (well actually it’s not a box at all, but a round pot with a lid that comes off but let’s just call it a tooth box for the sake of argument).

Upon waking his first port of call (even before the toilet) was the window-sill to ensure that she had indeed called – which of course she had (phew, well remembered).

But my question again is – how long is she expected to visit our house?  After all MasterB still has quite a few baby teeth to come out.

Hmmmm it’s an interesting one and we’ll just have to wait and see.

Does the tooth fairy still come to your house if you have a tween or teenager?

I blog over at www.seizeeachday.com where you can read more about life with a tween and other parenting and lifestyle posts.
