It’s not the politician’s fault. It’s the public’s fault

George Carlin suggests that once individuals give up their identity and join groups (even as small as two members) they become the problem. As articulated by Dave Lloyd:

People as individuals are nice, generally helpful and caring people. As a group, they are panicky, disrespectful, and most importantly, stupid, simply because its easier to be a follower, no one wants to lead at times of crisis. Crowd mentality has been bred in to people, and those who know how to lead know this very well, and only stick their heads up, when it suits them. Political expediency has overtaken moral imperative. We are all in the shit, its just the depth that varies!
