Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth’s Performing Arts Society are returning to the Shelley theatre for the 2nd year running, to perform their production of Our House, the Madness Musical. The group have added two extra show dates since selling out all 4 performances of American Idiot at the same venue last year. You can catch Our House Tuesday 13th– Saturday 17th 2018, performances starting at 7.30pm each night, and 2.30pm Saturday matinee performance.

The Performing Arts Society won Bournemouth University’s Student Union’s “Event of the Year” award with their 2017 production of American Idiot. Our House is set to be even bigger and better, with the cast and crew having worked endlessly on bringing the story to stage since last September. The show follows London teenage lad Joe Casey, as his life follows two very different paths as a result of one bad decision he makes on his 16th birthday. Featuring the most popular songs from Madness, including “It Must Be Love”, “Baggy Trousers”, “Driving In My Car” and of course “Our House”, this energetic musical is fun for all ages and set to have you singing along all night! Tickets are selling out fast and are only £13 standard and £10 for concessions (ID required).

The society is made up of students from both Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth and accepts people of all musical abilities, aiming to increase their stage presence and confidence in singing, dancing, acting and other talents. From rehearsing 2 to 3 times a week for 6 months, the group has become a close-knit family and is made up of returning members from previous years, as well as many new faces. Director of Our House, Josh Jones Jnr, say “this year’s cast are incredibly talented and have worked really hard alongside their studies to make this show as big and bright as possible. Our production team have made this the most visually stimulating and technically demanding show PARTS have put on to date, and we can’t wait for our friends, family and Bournemouth community to see our hard work pay off.”

Come and see this show-stopping musical at the Shelley Theatre March 13 – 17. Tickets £13 standard, £10 concession. Available from www.shelleytheatre.co.uk.
