Man arrested following a serious injury assault in Poole

Detectives investigating an assault in Poole that left the victim with serious injuries are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The incident occurred between 6pm and 6.30pm on Sunday 21 March 2021 in Southill Road. The victim, a man aged in his 20s, was on his scooter when he was allegedly pushed off it by another man and then assaulted while on the floor, before the offender left the scene.

The victim sustained facial injuries, damage to his teeth and a fractured leg.

Following enquiries, a 21-year-old Poole man has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Jordan Hopkins, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are carrying out a detailed investigation into this incident and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the area at the relevant time and has dashcam fitted to please check their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.”
