Officers investigating an alleged assault outside a pub in Weymouth town centre are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Dorset Police received a report at approximately 10.40am on Friday 15 September 2023 that a woman had been assaulted outside the William Henry pub in Frederick Place.

The victim, a local woman aged in her 20s, is receiving appropriate support from officers.

Following enquiries, a 42-year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Police Constable Joshua Westlake, of Weymouth police, said: “I am carrying out an investigation to establish what happened and am keen to hear from anyone with information.

“There may have been a number of people outside the pub at the time and I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police.”
