Police are appealing for information regarding an alleged assault which took place at Weymouth Town Quay.

On Monday 4 September 2023 at approximately 11pm, officers responded to reports of a man standing in front of oncoming traffic at the North Quay junction with Westwey Road.

It is alleged that the man pushed the driver of a moped, causing them to nearly lose their balance and control of the vehicle. The driver swerved away from the man and continued their journey.

The man, aged 33 and from Somerset, was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Police Sergeant Anneka Stone, of Weymouth police, said: “I am keen to speak to the driver of the moped and I would appeal to them to come forward.

“Also, I would like to appeal for anyone who has a dashcam fitted and who was in the area at the time to check their footage to see whether they may have anything of relevance that could assist with our investigation.”
