Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a reported road rage incident in Weymouth.

The incident occurred at around 1.35pm on Wednesday 12 April 2023 on Swannery Bridge involving two vehicles.

It is reported that one of the vehicles involved – a black Hyundai ix35 – pulled out in front of the victim’s vehicle.

The driver of the Hyundai later allegedly got out of his vehicle and caused damage to the victim’s car.

Following enquiries, a 43-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, criminal damage and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police Constable Jamie Ralphs, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened, or the manner of the driving of the Hyundai, to please get in touch.

“Also, I would like to hear from any motorists who will have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
