Man arrested following woman punched and kicked in Ferndown

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward following an alleged assault in Ferndown – with one man arrested.

Dorset Police received a report at around 7.25pm on Saturday 25 September 2021 that a woman was assaulted on Ringwood Road near to the junction with Victoria Road.

It is alleged that the victim – a woman aged in her 20s – was punched and kicked by a man. She attended hospital for treatment to bruising and pain to her ribs.

Enquiries were carried out and a 31-year-old man from Ferndown, who is known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police Constable Will Saunders, of East Dorset police, said: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries into this incident so far and our investigation has now led us to be in a position where I need witnesses to help me.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen what happened or captured anything of relevance on dashcam to please come forward.”
