It was reported that at around 12.50am on Sunday, 29 September 2024, an altercation occurred near the junction of Caroline Place and Westham Road.
A man aged in his 30s sustained serious facial injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Following detailed enquiries, two men were arrested in connection with the incident.
A 27-year-old man from Weymouth has now been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article in a public place. He is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 4 June 2025.
A 22-year-old Weymouth man who was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm, affray, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place remains released under investigation as enquiries continue.
