Officers investigating a fail-to-stop road traffic collision in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 6.40am on Sunday 25 July 2021 a man aged in his 50s was riding his silver Peugeot motorcycle on the southbound slip road from the A338 to the Cooper Dean Roundabout when he was involved in a collision with a silver Citroen Xsara Picasso.

The motorcyclist came off his bike and sustained minor injuries. The Citroen failed to stop following the incident.

Police Constable Gabriel Neagu, of Dorset Police, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam, to please come forward.

“It is likely the car involved sustained damage to its nearside front bumper, lights and wing mirror and I am also keen to hear from anyone who is aware of a Citroen Xsara Picasso that has sustained damage recently in unexplained circumstances.

“Finally, I would like to appeal directly to the driver of the vehicle involved to do the right thing and come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210119368. Alternatively, to stay 100 per cent anonymous, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or call freephone 0800 555 111.
