Officers investigating the theft of a phone from a man on Weymouth seafront are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 10.50pm on Monday 15 November 2021 the 18-year-old victim was walking along The Esplanade, near to Greenhill Gardens, when he was approached by two men on bicycles, who were asking for directions. The men reportedly began acting in an intimidating manner and stole the victim’s mobile phone before making threats.

One of the men is described as white and was wearing a black balaclava, black Nike Puffa-style jacket and carrying a Nike bag. The other man is described as black and was wearing a silver Nike Puffa-style jacket and a grey tracksuit.

Police Constable Matthew Barrett, of Weymouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am appealing to any witnesses to the theft, or anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area around the relevant time, to please contact us.”
