Man suffers brain bleed from assault in Bournemouth

Officers investigating an assault in Bournemouth that left a man with serious injuries are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 11.10pm on Saturday 20 April 2019 officers were called to reports of an assault outside Bar So in Exeter Road. It was reported that an altercation had occurred involving a group of four men and one of the men had been punched, causing him to fall to the ground, then kicked to the head.

The victim, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital and received treatment for facial injuries including a fractured eye socket and cheek bone as well as a bleed to the brain. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Detective Constable Neil Jones, of Bournemouth CID, said: “The victim of this assault was left with nasty injuries and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify the man responsible.

“I understand there were a number of people in the area at the time of this incident and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to contact us.”
