Organised by the DT11 Community Partnership to help people find out more about what is available locally, events take place during September and range from a 5 kilometre run to kayaking and free exercise classes.

On Thursday 18th & Friday 19th September a Health Information Fair takes place at The Crown Hotel, Blandford with 40 local organisations and community groups on hand to provide information about the services they offer. 

There are workshops and presentations throughout the day covering topics including 

·        Cardiology;

·        Osteoporosis;

·        mental health;

·        complimentary medicine;

·        chiropody;

·        living with a long term condition;

·        cooking healthy meals on a budget.  

The Health Information Fair takes place between the following times

·        Thursday 18 September 11am – 8pm;

·        Friday 19 September 10am – 5pm.

Saturday 20 September is Get involved, Get active Day with local clubs and groups offering free taster sessions.

These include:

·        The Blandford parkrun 5k along the Trailway, Jubilee Way Bridge, 9am;

·        Cricket at the Recreation Ground, 10.30am-12.30pm;

·        Bowls at Blandford Bowls Club, 10am-12pm;

·        Kayaking on the River Stour with Stour Valley Canoe Club, 9.30am-12.30pm;

·        A 3 mile Guided Walk organised by Blandford & District U3A, 11am at The Crown Hotel;

·        Free exercise classes at Blandford Leisure Centre.

Health & Wellbeing Week is supported by local GP practices and members of their Patient Groups will be promoting the activities they undertake.
