Moped rider sought following road rage assault in Weymouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a road rage incident in Weymouth.

At approximately 2.55pm on Saturday 19 November 2022 a collision occurred in Westham Road.

It is reported that the rider of a moped kicked the front side of a car while passing. He subsequently came off his bike and was involved in a collision with a stationary parked vehicle.

Damage was caused to the car and the stationary vehicle.

Following the collision, it is reported that the rider of the moped assaulted the driver of the car, causing an injury to his nose.

Police Constable Nathan Busby, of Weymouth police, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish exactly what happened during this incident.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area and saw what happened, or the moments leading up to it, to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to hear from any motorists who were travelling in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
