The Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole will be welcoming the official FIFA mascot, Zabivaka on Saturday June 9 following Sunseeker announcing its sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Sunseeker will set up a penalty shoot-out area within the Dolphin Shopping Centre where children and adults can play football and also meet with the mascot. There will be two penalty shoot-outs during the day, the first at 12.30-1pm and the second at 1.30-2pm. During these times, children will be able to enjoy playing football and scoring goals with Zabivaka, as well as ‘meet and greet’ photo opportunities.

John Grinnell, centre manager at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, commented: “We’re very excited to welcome Zabivaka to the centre to meet with shoppers and families. As you can imagine, Zabivaka has a very busy schedule while he is here in Dorset, so we are very pleased Sunseeker chose to bring him to the Dolphin!”

Sunseeker International has the exclusive use of Zabivaka as part of its Tier One sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup global sporting event which kicks off on June 14. Zabivaka, a grey Russian wolf, translates in Russian as ‘the one who scores.’

John continued: “We welcome shoppers and visitors to the centre to enjoy playing football with Zabivaka, he lives and breathes football. We want to see local families enjoying themselves whilst helping raise awareness of the World Cup. Who will be the best scorer on the day?”
