This year’s South West Economic Forum and breakfast, being held on Thursday, 10th October at the George Albert Hotel near Evershot, has released details of its speaker line-up.

It’s the third year of the event, and this year the focus will be on how small to medium-sized local businesses are driving our economy.

The event’s host will be Rebecca Stephens, the former Deputy Editor of the FT and the first British women to climb Mt Everest. Rebecca has built a reputation as one of the UK’s leading motivational speakers.

Talking about how businesses need to build profile is the leading UK PR Guru, Lynne Franks. Many say Lynne was the inspiration for Ab Fab’s Edina and is now champion of the female entrepreneur with her successful SEED network.

Two leading local entrepreneurs have been lined up. Rupert Holloway, the founder of Conker Spirit and Nick Palmer from EPS Services. Both a grown and developed their businesses here in the south-west.

The local tourism industry will be represented by Alistair Handyside, Chair of the South West Tourism Alliance. Alistair will be covering how our local tourism industry is driving our economy.

Finally, to help dispel the myths, Dr Sangeeta Khorana, the south-west-based Brexit advisor, will be explaining exactly how Brexit will affect local businesses.

The event’s sponsors are Porter Dodson Solicitors, and Milsted Langdon Accountants and the organisers are Marketing West. For more information email [email protected].
