Wow no one was expecting this. Many would have been happy with a hundred but to get this many and so many from the younger generation gives us real hope that the future is safer in their hands.

We walked the 1.5 miles prepared with our face masks… to the Pavilion expecting a group of committed friends and activists. What we found was the whole Pavilion car park full with people and banners all social distancing and wearing the correct PPE. For those who did not have what was required it was being handed out.

We were then all given a rousing welcoming speech and instructions on how to deal with those who may want to antagonise or undermine

We then began the walk to the Oasis along the promenade, past Greenhill and Sluice Gardens and then along towards Bowleaze.

The atmosphere was amazing. Most of the people along the way were extremely supportive and clapped and waved. Cars hooted their horns with some hanging banners out of the window.

BLACK LIVES MATTER!

No trouble. The police walked alongside and were supportive.

Faith in humanity was somewhat restored.
