Pension skullduggery

Prime Minister,

So, the latest bit of financial clawing and scrabbling to be unleashed on your beloved hard-working people is to adversely affect those upon whom you have thrown a heavier workload since 2010 – local councillors.  Now we learn that your government is to cut councillors’ pensions and treat them as if they were volunteers, even while accepting a £20 million boost to the retirement funds of Wasteminster MP’s!  This is to be the councillors’ reward for their hard work and it makes a total lie (yet another one!) out of your party’s ludicrous claim to be the Workers’ Party.  Perhaps if you’d had to make your way up the ladder on your own merit instead of by leaning on the apron strings of nepotism you would understand how ridiculous that claim actually is.  Presumably, then, this kind of action is to be the eventual reward for all of those hard-working people to whom you are dumb enough to believe you still appeal.

This latest piece of financial underhandedness would be completely unbelievable if we did not already know from experience that the hallmark of your government is to get work done without having to pay for it.

I soooo hope that every local councillor in the land will now go on strike in protest at this obvious attempt by your government to try and force out those who don’t have Daddy’s silver spoon to fall back on.  You know that, whatever happens, your party is going to take a hammering in every single poll that it enters, so you’re trying to make it financially non-viable for less well-off people, whose loyalty will be to other parties, to stand for election to local councils.  Once again you have proved to the entire nation that you are a blithering idiot, because there are many people who will stand even once they know that there will be no financial reward at the end of their service.  For them service is the end, not the means. You and your kind, who share the “what can I get out of this for myself?” mentality are, thankfully, a minority in this country, and the sooner you and those in your government who have committed the biggest robbery since Brinks-Mat are gone, the better.

Oh, and by the way, I will continue to boycott Israeli produce if I wish.  You did not speak for me, or many of my friends, during your jolly to visit your Zionist buddy with the name that sounds like a sneeze. (https://uk.news.yahoo.com/cameron-israel-talk-peace-iran-124820468.html) But then, only one who willingly and openly steals from his own people is always going to support those who openly steal land from others.  Did you have to say “sorry” to Ben for not enabling his further land-grab that he was planning to carry out under cover of the Syrian invasion that you wanted?

Sincerely,

Darren Lynch
