First they said no links exist between increase in deprivation as a cause for crime and now there is no causation between police numbers and levels of crime. The former has been well and truly demolished and now the latter is being challenged up and down the country by those most closely involved in crime.
The question then is do we need the police at all? Or is their role now entirely about catching and not preventing?
Whatever, this government must live in a rabbit hole.
